
KT Coates is the owner of Vertical Dance, the Vice-President of the
International Pole Sports Federation, The Chair of Pole Spots UK and
a Level 3 PDC certified instructor. She has been in the pole
industry for over 16 years and is one of the pole industries leading
authorities in pole fitness and instructor training programs. As the
original X-Pole Girl she has raised health and safety standards
within the pole industry. She is responsible for the push to get
Pole Sports into the Olympics
and for creating the UK’s first fully comprehensive insurance
package.
She has the only instructor course that is recognised worldwide both
face to face and online. Her courses are endorsed by ACE, AFAA,
CANFITPRO, REPS, Skills Active, PDC, IPDFA and the PFA. Her training
programs have certified over 400 instructors across the globe and
courses are endorsed by schools and insurance companies worldwide.
KT has trained some of the world top instructors, performers and
celebrities as well as touring the world teaching pole. KT has
performed pole with the Rolling Stones, in movies, commercials, as
well as teaching pole to celebrities and thousands of students.
She has worked tirelessly to
gain recognition and respect for pole for many years and has worked
alongside the PFA and the IPDFA in creating a unified list of moves
and assists with PDC regulations. KT is a qualified Gymnastics Judge
and has judges Pole Competitions all over the world.
KT is continually seeking to educate herself so that she can pass on
the wealth of knowledge and understanding she has gained in pole
fitness. She currently holds qualifications in the UK and USA in
Group Exercise, Pre and Postnatal Exercise, Injury Prevention,
Shoulder stabilization and free style yoga. She has written 5
certification programs, teaches trapeze and is the co-creator of
Tri-Fly Fitness Aerial Fitness Instructor Training Program and DVD
series and the Vertical Dance DVD series.
KT is well known for her high energy fun, funky workshops for
beginner to the super advance.
In
2008 KT took part in the new series of Gladiators. She beat 20,000 hopefuls to win one of 16 places on the
show. She got through to the quarter finals winning a place in the
Gladiator hall of fame for her unmatched performance on hang tough,
she beat both gladiators Tempest and Battle Axe managing to complete
the course.
It was one of the most amazing experiences of her life and she feels
honoured to have been part of the show.
KT took part in the BNBF (British Natural Bodybuilding Federation)
Figure competition in July 2008 for the first time. She won both the
competition and won best presentation, this qualified her to enter
the British finals on October 2008. KT found out that she was
pregnant a month before the finals so she could not commit as fully
to the training and diet as she would have liked, but at 2 months
pregnant she came a very respectable 4th in Britain. She just hope
that she will get her six pack back once she has her first child at
the end of May 2009.
