Body and Mind Benefits
- By using the swing to gently lengthen the spine after daily tasks you can decompress the spine.
- Inversions will realign any imbalances in a healthy spine.
- Performing inversion supported by the swing will avoid back, neck and joint compression.
- Builds core strength to assist in strengthening the back.
- Increase joint mobility and muscles flexibility using gravity and your own body weight.
- The swing assists with balance allowing the Tri Flyer to hold positions longer with a better technique.
- Working with gravity to promote a body and mind centred low impact approach to fitness.
Science
Without
the spine we would be a pile of tissue and organs in a pile on the floor. It's
our body's support system that allows us to move and bend with flexibility. The
spine is constructed of 24 bones (vertebrae) , fluid filled sacks (discs) that
create a cushion between the vertebrae to stop them from rubbing together.
Ligaments hold each vertebra together. Ligaments attach bone to bone. Tendons
attach muscles to the vertebra. Each of these components work together to create
facets joints that low movement, all the time protecting the spinal cord. The
spinal cord passes information from our brain to the rest of our body and
without this your body cant move and your organs can not function. This is why a
healthy spine is vital if you wish to live an active life.
The spine is divided into regions:
Cervical-Thoracic-Lumbar-Sacrum
Performing day to day tasks such as running, walking and sitting causes the
spine to compress. Tri-Fly will help to gently lengthen the spine, filling the
discs with synovial fluid, helping to improve cushioning of the spine. inversion
techniques will help to realign the spine.
"Being suspended can help to relieve tension in different parts of the body," says Louise Sutton, head of the Carnegie Centre for Sports Performance and Wellbeing at Leeds Metropolitan University. "And your core muscles tend to work extra-hard just to keep you in position."
Fitness Benefits

It beats jumping up and down in aerobics class!
Muscular Strength and Endurance: The Tri-Fly concept will increase muscular strength and endurance by using the weight of the body to create top to toe muscle definition. Lifting, pulling, hanging and inverting while performing strength exercise will flatten tummies, banish bingo wings and improve self image.
